Everyone,
I talked to the guys last night. Over the last few days they have been battling strong head winds of 25 to 30 miles an hour with 2' to 3' foot waves. They are currently paddling up the Intercoastal past the Kennedy Space Center.
Sunday was supposed to be a rest day, but they were a few miles behind schedule, so they did some miles to catch up and get ahead.
Monday they were in Mosquito Lagoon and they said the name was appropriate! They had a shorter day of paddling doing 21 miles, but because of the Memorial Day holiday they had to deal with a lot of boaters. They had a group of dolphins swim along with them for a few miles.
Tuesday Mark H. and Mark S. saw a 3' to 4' shark and they finished the day at Flagler Beach.
Today they are hoping and expecting a favorable east wind. They will do 30 miles and end in St. Augustine.
On a lighter note Mark Sturgis is sporting a full beard and Ray is still sporting no hair! Mark Hundley says Ray looks like Casper the Ghost when they start out in the morning because of all the sun block he puts on his head.
